There are plenty of materials one can use for cases, but one of our favorites is aluminum. Aluminum is an incredibly common metal and its abundance is one reason it began to be used in making custom cases. It’s also just a sturdy metal that can take a good bit of damage.
Strength-to-Weight
Cases made of aluminum tend to be relatively light considering how strong they are. Having a good strength-to-weight ratio makes aluminum cases a fantastic option for travel. You can easily get many aluminum cases onboard a plane as a carry-on item, for example. It’ll also minimize shipping costs if you end up shipping your custom case somewhere else.
Watertight
Unlike many wooden and plastic cases out there, aluminum does not absorb water and is watertight. This means your case will be water resistant and protect your valuables from moisture. If you’re going somewhere that you may have a lot of water, getting an aluminum custom case makes sense.
Durable Over Time
Aluminum is great because if you know you’ll need the case for a long time–for example, if you’re using an aluminum case as your daily laptop case–then aluminum will stand the test of time. These cases can easily be used over-and-over again, requiring little maintenance and giving you many hours of use.
Resistant to Temperatures
If using a plastic or wood case, you could experience cracking, distortion, or warping if your case is too hot. If your car goes through enough heat, it could even distort the shape of it, rendering it useless. Aluminum cases are known to stand up against either hot or cold weather.
