Armed Services YMCA
This organization focuses on junior enlisted military members and their families. They offer programs in the areas of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. They also offer childcare support, hospital assistance, deployment support, and many other programs tailored to the needs of the military community.
Homes for Our Troops
Homes for Our Troops is a unique organization that builds mortgage-free homes for the most severely injured veterans hurt in combat since 9/11. They build four bedroom, two bathroom, energy efficient homes to make life easier for these injured servicemen.
Fisher House Foundation
The Fisher House Foundation provides military families with housing close to a loved one when they are injured or fallen victim to a disease and need to be hospitalized. It also provides a scholarship program for children in military families and free flights and hotel rooms for personnel and their families. Guide Dog Foundation/America’s Vet Dogs
This charity helps blind and disabled veterans and active personnel use guide dogs to help them in their day-to-day lives. They train the dogs and give the blind veteran a chance to practice living their lives with the help of the dog at no cost to the veteran or their families.
