The United States Navy recently celebrated its 236th birthday, something President Barrack Obama celebrated in the letter below:
The Continental Congress established what is now the United States Navy on 13 October 1775 when they authorized the procurement, fitting out, manning and dispatch of two armed vessels. Over the course of the American Revolution, the Navy grew to incorporate as many as 50 ships. 236 years later, the Navy operates 286 ships and more than 3,700 aircraft and has 328,516 personnel on active duty, plus another 101,689 in the Navy Reserve.
The U.S. Navy is now the largest in the world.
So we at Package Strategies Incorporated would like to wish the U.S. Navy a happy birthday and we would like to thank each and every enlisted man and woman for their dedicated service.
