Rotationally molded cases, better known as roto-molded cases are cost-effective shipping cases produced using a three-stage rotational molding process.
- Heating Stage: A plastic charge is placed into the case mold, which is slowly rotated in two planes as heat transfer causes the plastic charge to conform to the mold.
- Cooling Stage: Using either air, water spray, or a combination of the two, the mold is then cooled.
- Load / Unload Stage: Finally, the case is removed from the mold and a new plastic charge is inserted.
The rotational molding process is a three-stage, no-pressure, plastic molding process that allows for the production of light-weight, seamless, stress-free cases. Best of all, the rotational molding process is much more economical than injection molding or blow molding.
Additional benefits of roto-molded cases include:
- Incredible durability
- Superior strength
- Easily customizable
- The ability to integrate metal parts and graphics
- Unlimited design possibilities!
Aside from the shipping cases, rotational molding can also be used to produce a wide variety of items, from toy dolls to agricultural equipment.
