Roto‑Molded
Cases

Packaging Strategies supplies roto-molded case solutions matched to your application — starting with a thorough review of your payload, operating environment, and program requirements. Whether that means specifying a proven platform, modifying an existing design, or developing a case from the ground up, we guide you to the right solution. From initial application review through first article sampling and compliance documentation, we make sure the case performs exactly as it needs to in the field.

When Are Roto‑Molded Cases the Right Solution?

Roto-molded cases are formed by loading plastic resin into a heated mold that rotates on two axes simultaneously. As the mold spins, the melted plastic coats the interior walls evenly, cooling into a seamless, one-piece shell with no weld lines, no stress points, and naturally reinforced corners where impact damage typically begins.

The rotational molding process allows wall thickness to be adjusted at any point in the mold, making it possible to optimize the balance between weight and protection for a specific payload. It also scales to large-format sizes that other molding methods can't easily achieve. For programs where payload dimensions, durability requirements, or operating conditions point beyond what a stock case can deliver, roto-molded construction is often the right answer.

How We Work With You

Assessment and Design icon

Application Review

We start by understanding what your equipment needs to do — operating environment, handling conditions, compliance requirements, and volume. That informs whether a roto-molded solution is right, and whether we're modifying an existing platform or engineering from scratch.

Custom Design icon

Custom Fabrication

We fabricate foam inserts for roto-molded cases in-house to your exact specifications — including airtight sealing, integrated hardware, and any program-specific structural requirements.

First Article Sampling

Producing and delivering a first article for your review and approval before full production begins, confirming fit, function, and environmental performance with your actual hardware.

Testing & Delivery

Conducting compliance documentation, traceability, third-party testing certification, and final validation to meet MIL-STD, DFARS, or ITAR requirements before on-time delivery.
